Timber Challenge

The design of the National Conservation Legacy and Education Center incorporates 24 different tree species for support posts in the Grand Lobby. These posts will come from national, state or private forest lands. Each post will tell a story about how different tree species played a role in U.S. history.

First Timber Challenge Stumps Our Readers. There were no correct responses to our challenge last month. Thanks to all who participated! The correct answer was: Bald Cypress. The timber came from the Kisatchie National Forest and will be featured as one of the Tall Timbers in the Center's Grand Lobby. Stay tuned for another challenge next month!
