Capital CampaignThe National Conservation Legacy and Education Center is more than a building—it represents what we can do to pass on the heritage and stewardship of our national forests and grasslands. Like those individuals who find themselves called to work on behalf of or in cooperation with the Forest Service, the Center will welcome those with curious minds who question the past, present and future. It will embrace those who prefer to find themselves in the outdoors, where the inspiration and majesty of our nation’s peaks and prairies give them a sense of place. The NMFSH organization has taken action to prepare the site for construction, develop the architectural plans and envision the Center’s exhibits, theatre presentations and programs. Now it’s time to open the doors. It will take a total investment of over $12 million to build the Center. With the support of the Forest Service, individuals, foundations and companies, the NMFSH has already attracted over $3.2 million – more than a quarter of the goal. Now we are geared up to raise $9.5 million. About half of these contributions will fund construction of the National Conservation Legacy and Education Center and half will fund the exhibits and theater presentation. To date, for every dollar individuals contributed to the NMFSH’s Capital Campaign, we succeeded in attracting $2.00 in public and corporate support. With new matching grant opportunities, moving forward, for every dollar individuals contribute to the Capital Campaign, the NMFSH has the opportunity to attract $3.00 in public support, $2.00 in foundation grants and $1.00 in corporate contributions. That’s $6.00 for every $1.00 you contribute. |
